Bajaj’s Pulsar series is one of the most famous ranges of bikes from the two-wheeler producer which is still selling in good amount. Pulsar 150 is a very popular name among the drivers of sports motorcycle in India. The Pulsar brand first got introduced 15 years ago. In 2017, the Pulsar 150 BS4 offered a modified 149cc engine, generating power of 13.9 BHP at 8000 rpm and torque of 13.4 Nm at 6000 rpm. Pulsar 150 provides a top speed of 115 kmph while having a high weight of 144 kg. Price of Bajaj Pulsar 150cc is Rs. 64,856.

The brilliant 45 kmpl of mileage and comfortable riding position makes it one of the bestoptions among bikes like Yamaha SZ-RR V2.0 and Honda CB Unicorn. Bajaj Pulsar is one of the models which is an outstanding option in the 150cc segment. Features including sporty design, impressive fuel economy, ample power, and lucrative pricing are the reason for the Bajaj Pulsar 150’s success. Power of this bike comes from four-stroke, 149cc, suspension duties, and air-cooled engine are managed by nitrox shock absorbers at rear and telescopic forks in front.

Before the introduction of the Pulsar, the Indian motorcycle market trend was towards fuel efficient, small capacity motorcycles (that formed the 80–125 cc class). Bigger motorcycles with higher capacity virtually did not exist (except for Enfield Bullet with 350cc and 500cc variants).

The launch and success of Hero Honda CBZ in 1999 showed that there was demand for performance bikes. Bajaj took the cue from there on and launched the Pulsar twins (150cc and 180cc) in India on 24 November 2001.Since the introduction and success of Bajaj Pulsar, Indian youth began expecting high power and other features from affordable motorcycles.
The project faced internal resistance, reservations by McKinsey & Company and doubts on its effects on Bajaj's relation with Kawasaki. The project took approximately 36 months for completion and cost Bajaj ? 1 billion.
